Resize Image — free online tool
Change an image's pixel dimensions — make a photo fit a form's 600 × 600 requirement, scale a logo for a signature block, or downsize a 4000-pixel screenshot for a document. Enter the width you want and the height is calculated to keep the proportions, or enter both to force exact dimensions. Output is PNG so nothing is lost in the resize itself. It runs entirely in your browser — your image never leaves your device, there is nothing to install, and it is free with no sign-up.
- Set width alone to keep the aspect ratio, or width and height for an exact size
- Accepts JPG, PNG and WebP; outputs lossless PNG
- High-quality resampling so downsized images stay sharp
- Transparency in PNG and WebP inputs is preserved
- Instant and private — nothing is uploaded
How to resize image
- 1Upload the image.

- 3If a form demands exact dimensions, enter both width and height.
- 4Click Resize Image.

Frequently asked questions
Will making an image larger improve its quality?
No. Upscaling spreads the existing pixels over more space, which looks soft. Resize down whenever you can; if you must enlarge, keep it under about 150% of the original and expect some blur.
How do I convert pixels to centimetres or inches for print?
Divide pixels by the print resolution. For a 300 DPI print, a 10 cm wide image needs 10 ÷ 2.54 × 300 ≈ 1181 pixels. For a 4 × 6 inch photo at 300 DPI, resize to 1800 × 1200.
Why is the output PNG when I uploaded a JPG?
PNG is lossless, so the resize step itself never degrades the image. If you need a smaller JPG or WebP, run the result through Compress Image or Convert Image — two steps, but each is lossless where it can be.
What sizes do common uses need?
LinkedIn profile photo: 400 × 400 minimum. Passport-style photo for online forms: usually 600 × 600. Resume headshot: 300 × 300 is ample. Email signature logo: about 300 pixels wide. Web hero image: 1600–1920 wide.
