Reorder Pages — free online tool
Rearrange the pages of a PDF by typing the new order — useful when a scanner fed sheets in the wrong sequence, when a cover or appendix ended up in the middle, or when you want the executive summary first. Enter the page numbers in the order you want them and the tool rebuilds the document to match. It runs entirely in your browser — your file never leaves your device, there is nothing to install, and it is free with no sign-up. To drop pages without changing the order, Remove Pages is the simpler tool.
- Type the whole new sequence once, e.g. 3, 1, 2, 4 — no dragging needed for long documents
- Every page keeps its exact content, size and orientation
- Pages you leave out stay at the end in their original order, so nothing is lost by accident
- Handles documents up to 50 MB in the browser
- Free, private and watermark-free
How to reorder pages
- 1Upload the PDF whose pages are out of order.
- 2Note the current page count shown after upload.
- 3Type the new order as a comma-separated list, for example 2, 1, 3, 4, 5.
- 4Click Reorder Pages to rebuild the document locally.
- 5Download the result and flick through it to confirm the sequence.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to pages I do not include in the list?
They are kept, after the pages you listed, in their original order — so a short list like 3, 1 moves those two pages to the front and keeps the rest. To delete pages, use Remove Pages. The result screen shows the final page order before you download.
Can I repeat a page in the new order?
Yes. Listing a page number twice includes that page twice, which is occasionally useful for duplicating a blank separator or a form page.
Is there a visual, drag-and-drop way to do this?
Not yet — the tool takes a typed list, which is faster for long documents once you know the sequence. Open the PDF in your viewer to note page numbers first. A thumbnail view is on our list.
Does reordering affect bookmarks or the table of contents?
Bookmarks keep pointing at the same page content, so they still land on the right page after the move. A typed table of contents inside the document is just text and will not update — regenerate it in the source application if page references matter.
