1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and authentication identifiers via Firebase Authentication. If you sign in with a third-party provider (e.g. Google), we receive the basic profile information that provider shares with us.

Resume and document content

Content you create or upload — resumes, cover letters, work history, contact details, and any PDF/DOCX files you import or generate — is stored so you can edit and download it later. This content is yours; see our Terms of Service for ownership details.

AI feature inputs

If you use AI-assisted rewriting, gap analysis, or AI-generated content, the relevant portions of your resume/cover-letter text are sent to our AI processing providers solely to generate the requested output. We do not use your content to train third-party foundation models.

Billing information

Payments are handled by our payment processor(s) (e.g. Paddle, Razorpay). We receive confirmation of your subscription status and transaction history, but we do not store full payment card numbers.

Usage and device data

We may collect basic technical information (browser type, device type, IP-derived country for currency display, pages visited) to operate and improve the Service. See our Cookie Policy for details on cookies and local storage.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the resume/cover-letter builder and PDF tools
• To process AI requests you initiate (rewrites, ATS scoring, gap analysis)
• To process payments and manage your subscription
• To communicate with you about your account, billing, or support requests
• To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues

3. How We Share Information

We share information only with:

• Service providers who process data on our behalf (authentication, hosting, AI processing, payment processing) under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations
• Payment processors (e.g. Paddle, acting as Merchant of Record, or Razorpay) to complete and manage your subscription
• Authorities, where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising

We use Google AdSense to serve advertisements on our blog articles and resume role guides only. No ads are served on the resume builder, PDF tools, templates, dashboard, pricing or checkout pages. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites on the Internet.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to CraftMyDocs and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or by using our site's Cookie Preferences.

5. Data Retention & Closing Your Account

We retain your account and document data for as long as your account is active.

To close your account, email support@craftmydocs.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We action erasure requests within 30 days. Your resume/cover-letter content and personal data are deleted from our production systems, except where retention is required for legal, tax, or billing-record purposes — payment records are kept by us and by our payment providers for the period tax law requires.

If you have an active subscription, cancel it first from Dashboard → Billing (or tell us in the same email and we will cancel it for you) so that no further payment is taken.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or UK, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Request a portable export of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent (e.g. for marketing emails) at any time

7. Your Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of your personal information, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. CraftMyDocs does not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA. You may submit requests to support@craftmydocs.com.

8. International Data Transfers

CraftMyDocs serves customers globally. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the country where Syed Mohammad Amaan or its sub-processors operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
