Will the layout match the PDF exactly?
Text-based PDFs exported from Word, Google Docs or a resume builder convert very closely. Designed layouts with overlapping elements, multi-column magazine pages and complex tables are reconstructed as best as possible but may need tidying. Scanned PDFs have no text layer — run OCR first to get the text.
Why is this tool paid when merge and split are free?
Merge, split, rotate and the other organising tools run entirely in your browser at no cost to us. Office conversion needs a full document engine on a server, which we run and pay for per job. It is included in every paid plan alongside PDF and DOCX resume export.
What happens to my file after conversion?
The upload is processed once, the DOCX is kept for up to an hour so you can download it, then deleted automatically. The upload itself is never stored. We do not read, retain or use uploaded documents for anything else.
Can I convert a resume PDF back into Word to edit it?
Yes, and it works well because resumes are text-based. If the resume was built here, though, open it in the builder instead — the content is already editable, and you can export a fresh DOCX in any template without conversion.
